Born and raised in Tokyo, I received my BA in economics from the University of Tokyo in 2012. Impressed by the wonderfulness of exploring "other cultures" during several backpacking trips I made, I decided to pursue a M.Phil degree of sociology and anthropology at the University of Hong Kong. My M.Phil thesis is about charisma in a modern religious organization, particularly the interdependence between charisma and institution and tradition.
